How to Get Started
- Welcome to I’M SO DMV’s website. I’M SO DMV is a media and video distribution platform that gives people from the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia area the opportunity to upload videos showing their everyday life and talents. Now, lets get you on your way to creating a channel and uploading your video in your channel.
- Click the Register tab at the top of the website. Once you have registered for IM SO DMV website click/hover on your username on the top right corner of the website and then click Your Profile.
Click the empty profile picture and upload a photo (size: 100×100). Look to the right on a computer or down on a smartphone and you will see Personal Options. Please fill out the personal information such as your Name (nickname is required), Contact Info, About Yourself and Account Management and click the update button as you go. Your personal options will determine what people will see and know about you.
- After filling out all your information, now it’s time to create your own channel. Look under Personal Options in Your Profile and you’ll see a button called Create Channel. Click the Create Channel button and give your channel a name. Once your channel is created, go to username (top right corner of website) and then click public profile. Under your profile picture click Channels and then click on your channel name. Click the blank channel picture and then click the Edit Button on the top-right corner of your blank channel picture to upload a picture that will represent your channel (channel picture size: 1280×780).
- Once you have created your channel, now it is time to upload your first video. Click on the red Upload Video button at the top-right corner of the website. Fill out the title and description of your video in detail. Link your video from YouTube, Facebook, dailymotion, and vimeo or upload your video from your laptop, computer or cellphone (no more than 90 MB’s in size and in MP4 format). Click Submit and wait for your video to finish uploading. Once your video is finish uploading, go to Public Profile in your username menu (top right corner of website) and under your channel profile picture, click Channels and then click your channel name. This is your channel page.
